How to Get Started with Active Catalogs

Updated over 4 months ago

Introduction: When you first install Active Catalogs and confirm your plan, you’ll be guided through a Welcome Flow. This optional three-step setup helps you brand your catalog before your first PDF is generated. Even if you skip steps, you can always update your logo and font later in Settings.

We recommend you add a default Catalog Logo, choose your Catalog Font, and watch our 90-second Demo before making your first catalog.

Welcome Flow Step 1: Upload Your Catalog Logo

  1. On the Welcome screen, click Upload Catalog Logo.

  2. Choose an image file from your device.

  3. Once uploaded, your logo appears in the preview area.

👉 Outcome: Your logo is saved, and you’re automatically moved to the Font Selection step.

Welcome Flow Step 2: Choose a Font

  1. Click Continue to Font.

  2. Select a font style from the available options.

👉 Outcome: The selected font is highlighted and applied to your catalog preview.

Welcome Flow Step 3: Preview Your Catalog

  1. Click Continue to Preview.

  2. A sample PDF generates, showing your uploaded logo, chosen font, and active products from your store.

👉 Outcome: You can review your catalog branding before finalizing.

Welcome Flow Step 4: Complete Setup

  1. Click Yes, Let’s Get Started.

👉 Outcome: You’re redirected to the Get Started Dashboard, your homepage until you create your first catalog.

Alternate Welcome Flow Paths

  • No logo or font selected:

    • A PDF generates with a placeholder logo and font.

  • Changed logo/font in Preview:

    • The most recent selections are reflected in the PDF.

  • Exit early:

    • You’ll be taken to the Get Started Dashboard with the option to complete the setup steps. Defaults will be applied (no logo + placeholder font).

Next Steps: The Get Started Dashboard

From this dashboard, you can:

  • Watch Demo (marks the step complete)

  • Take Guided Tour (launches a self-guided walkthrough tour)

  • Change Logo or Font (redirects to Settings)

Your dashboard remains the homepage until your first catalog is published.
