FAQs - Custom Catalogs

Updated over 3 months ago

1. What are custom catalogs used for?

Custom catalogs are ideal for targeted use cases, such as:

  • Buyer-specific catalogs — create personalized catalogs for key accounts.

  • Seasonal campaigns — highlight products for holidays, sales, or limited-time events.

  • Curated selections — build focused catalogs for featured products, promotions, or collections.

2. How are custom catalogs different from whole store catalogs?

  • Whole Store Catalogs include every active product from published collections.

  • Custom Catalogs let you pick only the sections you want, giving you flexibility to create catalogs tailored to specific audiences or purposes.

3. If I edit a section that’s in multiple custom catalogs, will all catalogs update?

Yes. Sections are reusable. If you add, remove, or update products in a section, those changes automatically appear in every custom catalog that uses that section.

4. Can I duplicate a custom catalog?

Yes. When you duplicate a catalog, an exact copy is created, including all of its assigned sections. The duplicate catalog has its own versions of sections, so you can edit them independently without affecting the original.

5. Can each custom catalog have a different logo?

Yes. You can keep the default logo, hide it, or replace it. Each custom catalog can have its own unique logo.

6. What is the internal key used for?

The internal key helps you track catalogs and sections internally. For example, you might use it to:

  • Flag a catalog for a specific buyer or campaign.

  • Identify sections that belong to a seasonal catalog.

  • Support internal catalog management without affecting customer-facing details.

7. Can I rearrange sections in a custom catalog?

Yes. You can reorder sections using drag-and-drop. The new order is immediately reflected in the catalog PDF.

8. Can catalogs display product variants?

Yes. Active Catalogs includes variants by default, but when creating and editing sections for custom catalogs, you can choose whether to exclude variants, allowing each catalog to match your buyers’ needs.

9. How can I preview or share a custom catalog?

  • Use Preview to see updates in real time.

  • Select Open PDF to view the catalog as a PDF.

  • Use Copy Link to generate a shareable link to the catalog.

10. How can I quickly find the right catalog?

From the Catalogs page, you can:

  • Search by title or internal key.

  • Filter catalogs by type (Whole Store or Custom).

  • Filter by date range to locate recently created or updated catalogs.

11. If I edit an existing catalog title, does the catalog URL change?

  • Yes, catalog titles are in the shared links

    • The initial catalog link will be accessible, but deactivated/no longer synced

    • You will want to send the updated URL to prior recipients if applicable
